E-BOOKS NOW AVAILABLE AT LANGEBERG LIBRARIES
The demand for online reading has steadily increased over the course of the last few years and is now part of the offering at Western Cape public libraries. The new e-book service brings e-books and audio books to library users across the province.
Library patrons can now use the new Libby App to borrow books on Overdrive, from the comfort of their homes, or from virtually anywhere. Overdrive is a global reading platform and a distributor of digital content for libraries and schools. It has a large catalogue of e-books and audio books that can be accessed to read and listen to, at any time and from anywhere.
When clicking on a book title, a synopsis of the book appears which can be read. A search function allows searching for a specific book title, or any other library material.
Anyone wanting to access this service needs to sign up for membership at their local library. Libby is available for android and iOS and it can be downloaded at libbyapp.com.
