With reference to the above application, the Department hereby notifies you of its decision to grant Environmental Authorisation and to adopt the MMP, attached herewith, together with the reasons for the decision.

In terms of Regulation 4 of the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations, 2014, (as amended), you are instructed to ensure, within 14 days of the date of the Environmental Authorisation, that all registered Interested and Affected Parties (“I&APs”) are provided with access to and reasons for the decision, and that all registered I&APs are notified of their right to appeal.

Notice is hereby given of a public participation process in terms of the National Environmental Management Act (No. 107 of 1998) (NEMA) and the 2014 Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations, as amended.

Lactalis SA (Pty) Ltd is proposing a Wastewater Treatment Works and associated infrastructure on Remainder Farm 695, Bonnievale, Western Cape. Please refer to the attached notification in this regard.

A Draft Basic Assessment Report (DBAR) and Environmental Management Programme (EMPr) will be available for a 30-day public review and comment period from 31 August 2022 – 3 October 2022.  The documentation can be reviewed at the Bonnievale Public Library (16 van Zyl Street, Bonnievale, Tel.: 023 616 8016).
