GO DIGITAL: ANALOGUE SWITCH-OFF EXTENDED TO 30 JUNE 2022

The analogue switch-off date has been moved from 31 March 2022 to 30 June 2022 to ensure the seamless transition of services by 1 July 2022.

You don’t need to produce a TV license to apply and register for an STB Installation. If you are a South African citizen with a household monthly income of R3500 or less and still rely on an analogue TV viewing, you qualify for a free government subsidised decoder and installation.

Apply at your nearest Post Office or through www.stbregistration.gov.za to receive your FREE decoder and installation. Registration is NOT indefinite.

All you need is a valid RSA ID, proof of household income and proof of residence. You will get an affidavit at the Post Office to declare where there is no income (unemployed). A letter from the local house of traditional leadership or ward councillor will suffice for households without a documented physical address.

Not qualifying for the government decoder subsidy and you still prefer to watch free-to-air channels in digital? Visit your nearest retailer and make a once-off purchase of a free-to-air DTH satellite decoder. Some local small retailers and online stores have begun to stock free-to-air DTT decoders.
