HELP US CREATE A FRIENDS GROUP FOR OUR PLAY PARKS AND NATURE RESERVES

Langeberg Municipality invites all residents to join hands in preserving and enhancing our local play parks and nature reserves. These areas provide vital spaces where children play, families connect, and wildlife thrive. To ensure they remain well-maintained and vibrant, we are forming community-led *Friends Groups* dedicated to their care and improvement.

What is a Friends Group?

A *Friends Group* is a volunteer-led community organization that works in partnership with the municipality to advocate for and improve local parks and nature reserves. These groups help organize clean-up efforts, host community events, and promote activities that benefit both residents and the environment.

Why Get Involved

1. Make a Positive Impact

Contribute to the well-being of our community by helping maintain and enhance our parks. Activities like organizing clean-up days or planting trees will ensure these cherished spaces thrive for future generations. Additionally, you’ll play a key role in reducing vandalism and illegal activities within our parks.

2. Advocate for Our Community’s Needs

As part of a *Friends Group*, you will help voice the needs and priorities of our parks, ensuring the municipality secures resources and implements improvements that align with the community’s vision.

3. Build Connections with Neighbours

Join a group of like-minded individuals who share your passion for outdoor spaces. This is a great opportunity to strengthen community ties while working towards a common goal.

4. Organize Fun and Educational Events

Help create engaging events like family fun days, nature walks, and environmental workshops that promote outdoor play and raise awareness of the importance of nature conservation.

How to Get Started

- Gather a small group of interested people.

- Call a public meeting to discuss your local park and your shared goals.

- Contact Langeberg Municipality’s Parks & Amenities Department to formalize your Friends Group.

Together, Let’s Enrich Our Community

Our play parks and nature reserves are vital to the quality of life in Langeberg, and we need your help to protect and improve them. By forming *Friends Groups*, we can ensure these spaces remain vibrant and enjoyable for all residents and visitors.
