SCAM ALERT IMPERSONATION OF TRAFFIC OFFICIAL

Langeberg Municipality hereby caution the public of a new scam that recently happened at our Robertson Traffic Department. A client was approached by  a person posing as a traffic official, offering to assist quicker, by taking the cash and documentation to process the information. The person allegedly disappeared with the cash.

The Municipality wants to caution the public that employees are not allowed to take any monies beyond the pay point cubicle. All payment transactions must be completed at the cash register whereafter the customer will be issued with a receipt. 

If you are approached by someone offering assistance, by expecting you to provide payment somewhere other than our designated pay points, please decline the offer of assistance and move into the facility to a cashier point and report the individual to the municipal call centre at 0860 88 11 11 or SAPS at 10111.
