Discussion: A series of cold fronts are expected to affect the Western and Northern Cape on Saturday and Sunday. This will cause day time temperatures to drop significantly on Sunday and Monday where maximum temperatures may be below 10°C in places over the southern Namakwa (N. Cape) and the interior of Western Cape. Snowfalls are possible over the mountainous areas. General windy conditions will accompany the cold and wet weather. |
Impact: Due to the wind chill factor, temperatures may feel colder than the measured values. |
Instruction: The public and small stock farmers are advised that loss of vulnerable livestock and crops can be expected due to the combination of very cold, windy and wet conditions. |
