Post 01: Youth Environmental Service Graduate Programme (36 months)

Salary: Stipend of R200 daily, UIF inclusive

Placement Centres: Host Employers within Langeberg Local Municipality.

Requirements:

  • Unemployment young South African graduates from 18 - 35 years.
    Matric + 3 year qualifications in environmental management, natural resources management or any other environmental related qualification.
  • N6 Qualification from TVET College including trades and occupation will also be considered.
  • Young people with disabilities and young women are encouraged to apply.

Duties:

  • The aim of the project is to respond to the multiple needs of young people which enable them to access new opportunities for employment, income generation, skills development and personal development while contributing to the reconstruction of South Africa.
  • To participate in youth environmental service programme for the period of 36 months (12 months training and 24 months of community services).
  • To conduct community service activities.
  • Attend and complete accredited training.

Notice is hereby given that the Municipal Council has at its meeting held on 31 May 2022 resolved that a long-term debt (loan) be incurred for the funding of the capital expenditure programme as per the approved 2022/2023 budget and medium-term revenue and expenditure framework (MTREF).

A long-term debt of R30 million will be incurred in accordance with section 46 of the Local Government: Municipal Finance Management Act, No 56 of 2003 and the details of the loan are as per the attached document.
