INFORMAL TRADERS RECEIVE CUSTOM GAZEBOS

Langeberg Municipality, in collaboration with the Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA), handed over customised gazebos to a group of ten informal traders from Robertson and Nkqubela. The municipality identified the need for gazebos after discussions with the informal traders.

Many traders are unable to trade due to the need for shelter during harsh weather conditions. Additionally, the gazebos enable the vendors to conduct business at markets and festivals that do not provide shelter. 

The informal traders were given the opportunity to design their own gazebos. The impact of the project on these small businesses will be measured over a 7-month period.
