LANGEBERG HOST NETBALL WORLD CUP VIEWING CENTRE
The first ever Netball World Cup on African soil, is to be hosted at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), from Friday, 28 July to Sunday, 06 August 2023.
To share in the celebration and support for netball, Langeberg Municipality in partnership with the Department of Cultural Affairs and sport has established has established a public viewing centre in the Callie de Wet Hall, Robertson for all netball enthusiasts and sport fans to gather and watch the games on a big screen.
The viewing centre will be officially opened by the Langeberg Municipal Speaker, Cllr Hess, at 15:00 on Friday, 28 July 2023 to kick off the festivities. Everyone is welcome to attend the municipal opening followed by the official ceremonial opening of the Netball World Cup at 16h00 and the match between South Africa and Wales that will start at 18:00.
Spectators can enjoy uninterrupted viewing of the games on the big screen, even during loadshedding, where 16 teams will be battling it out across the 10 day tournament.
Food stalls will be available and will be run by local netball clubs as a fundraiser innitiative.
