LANGEBERG ROAD CLOSURES UPDATE - JULY 2024

Several roads, in and around the Langeberg Municipal area, are currently affected by the ongoing rainfall. Please see the status of the various roads below:

 

Bonnievale:

Red Bridge, R317 Road – Open

Low Water Bridge, Drew – Closed

Low Water Bridge, Angora Road – Closed

 

Montagu:

Low Water Bridge, Eyssen Street - Closed

Low Water Bridge, De Bos - Closed

 

Robertson:

Low Water Bridge, Hope Street - Closed

R60 between Robertson and Worcester - Open

 

Robertson/McGregor:

Robertson-McGregor Bridge (Breede River-Reitz) - Open

 

People residing close to the riverbanks are advised to be on high alert and be ready to evacuate on short notice if necessary. Please monitor messages from the municipality for updates.

 

Life-threatening emergency calls related to flooding should be directed to the fire department's dedicated emergency number at 023 615 8911 as the primary means of contact.

 

We kindly request that motorists reduce speed, proceed with caution and keep a safe following distance.

Do not cross any low water bridges that might be flooded. Also please do not remove any barricades as they are placed for your and other people’s safety.
