LANGEBERG WELCOMES NEW MANAGER: INFORMATION & COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY

We welcome Mr UB Bakaco to the position of Manager: Information & Communication Technology. Effective from 01 September 2023, Mr Bakaco will manage and evaluate the personnel of the ICT department in compliance with sound HR practices and labour relations. He will report to the Director: Strategy and Social Development.

His duties will involve managing the effective functioning and availability of network, infrastructure, communication technology and PC services within the municipality.

His main responsibilities involve technical strategy planning, developing, tracking and controlling the ICT annual operating and capital budgets to deliver effective, efficient and economic ICT services. Together with, induction training and user support to ensure employees improve their abilities to comprehend concepts and procedures in the workplace.

Mr Bakaco has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics, a Bachelor of Science Honours for Computer Science, Leadership Certificates, ITIL and Business and Systems Analysis with 10 years experience in the ICT field. He has had vast exposure of Digitalization Initiatives, People Management, Change Management, Incident and Problem Management, and ICT Project Management. He previously worked as a Server Coordinator at Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality and as a Systems and Web Administrator at Greater Kokstad Municipality.
