OFFICE CLOSURE OPERATIONS DURING FESTIVE SEASON

The municipal administrative and traffic offices (except Bonnievale traffic office) will be closed from 13:00 on Thursday, 21 December 2023 and will re-open on Wednesday, 3 January 2024. Bonnievale traffic office will be closed from 19 December 2023 and will re-open on Wednesday, 3 January 2024.

• Payment of accounts

Outside pay-points in all the towns will be open for payments of accounts. The following outside vendors are available to purchase electricity or pay accounts. (Click here)

• Waste removal

Normal standby, refuse removal and emergency services will still be rendered during this period.

On the public holidays of 15 and 26 December 2023 refuse collection will continue as normal with waste facilities open from 08:00 – 16:00.

No refuse will be removed on 25 December 2023. This collection will be done on 26 December 2023.

No refuse will be removed on 1 January 2024.  This collection will be done on 2 January 2024.

• Sewage removal

Removal of Septic Tank Waste in Montagu, Bonnievale and Ashton: December 2023 - January 2024Sewage removal will be as follows:

• Wednesday 20 December 2023
• Friday 22 December 2023
• Wednesday 27 December 2023
• Friday 29 December 2023

No sewage removal services will be rendered on the 25th and 26th December 2023 and 1st and 2nd January 2024.

Requests for the removal of sewage between Christmas and New Year must reach us on or before 11:00, Thursday 21 December 2023 please. If sewage removal must take place at short notice, then you will be held liable for the account which will be the after hours costs per load plus cost per kilometer.

Sewage removal will be as normal as from Tuesday, 3 January 2024.

• Swimming pool

The municipal swimming pool will operate throughout the holidays but will be closed on 15, 16, 25, 26 December 2023 and 01 January 2024.

• Irrigation water supply

Robertson will receive no irrigation water during the week of 25-29 December 2023. Irrigation water supply will continue as normal from 1 January 2024.

McGregor will receive normal irrigation water supply from 11-15 December and 18-22 December. With no supply during 25-29 December and 1-5 January. Continue fortnightly from 8 January 2024.

• Parks and nature reserves

The Montagu Mountain Reserve (Joubert Park - Badskloof Hiking trail and Bloupunt Hiking Trail) remain closed until further notice due to flood damages.

• Public toilet facilities

Closed on 25 December 2023 and 1 January 2024

• Grave sales

The public and funeral undertakers can make payment to Montagu Absa bank,  Langeberg Municipality, Account no: 105 0000008 use Ref: graves/surname of deceased, and produce the proof of payment and burial order to the graveyard workers in order to receive a grave number for burial.
