Water supply under immense pressure during stage 6 loadshedding
With an average of 9 hours electricity downtime on a day where we experience stage 6 loadshedding, our water treatment plant is set back with about 37% of our normal pump time.
The waterworks is thus under immense pressure and unable to fill reservoirs to the appropriate levels to supply to consumers normal water demand.
Every household should please make every effort to use 37% less water during the days where we experience stage 6 loadshedding.
This can be done by following these steps below.
From not irrigating gardens with municipal water,
to consider postponing your washing day,
and rather use grey water where possible and
limit toilet flushes as far as possible,
we all can do our part to save water for the most essential purposes during loadshedding times.
