IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING YOUR MUNICIPAL ACCOUNT STATEMENT

The Langeberg Municipality Finance Department would like to inform you of some important changes to your municipal account statements. Please read the following information carefully.

Notice to Consumers:

The Municipality will be issuing a detailed notice to all consumers explaining the new layout of the accounts and the changes that have been implemented. The new system, Sage, differs from our previous system, Promun, resulting in several changes to the layout and billing methods.

Key Changes to Note:

1. Reading Dates and Readings:

• As mentioned in the advertisement on June 10, 2024, the account for July will cover a period of more than 40 days. The amount shown under "Balance Brought Forward" will include the billing for usage in the old financial year ending 30 June 2024 , and the other billing will reflect the new financial year's usage, starting  from 1 July 2024

2. Separate Billing for Water Consumption and Basic Charges:

•    Under Promun, the billing for consumption and basic charges were combined into one  amount.
•    With Sage, the basic charge is now billed separately from consumption.

3. Balance Brought Forward:

•    The balance brought forward on your account is not an arrears amount but rather reflects the split billing for usage during June.

4. Property Rates:

• All residential property rates have been switched to monthly billing as advertised. Property rates will now be billed every month, with the rebate shown separately. For example, "Impermissible" refers to the first R15,000, and "Reduction" refers to R65,000, showing the rand values for the rebate.

BELANGRIKE INLIGTING RAKENDE MUNISIPALE REKENINGE

Die Finansiële Departement van Langeberg Munisipaliteit wil  graag  inligting in verband met  belangrike veranderinge aan munisipale rekeninge deur gee. Lees asseblief die volgende inligting noukeurig deur.

Kennisgewing aan Verbruikers:

Die Munisipaliteit sal 'n gedetailleerde kennisgewing aan alle verbruikers uitreik wat die nuwe uitleg van die rekeninge en die veranderinge wat geïmplementeer is, verduidelik. Die nuwe stelsel, Sage, verskil van ons vorige stelsel, Promun, wat verskeie veranderinge aan die uitleg en fakturering van rekeninge  tot gevolg het.

 Belangrike veranderinge om van kennis te dra:

1. Leesdatums en Lesings:

• Soos genoem in die advertensie van 10 Junie 2024, sal u  rekening vir Julie 'n periode van meer as 40 dae dek. Die bedrag wat onder "Saldo oorgedra" getoon word, sal die heffing vir verbruik in die ou boekjaar insluit wat geeinding het 30 June 2024 , en die ander heffing  sal die nuwe boekjaar, vanaf 1 Julie 2024  se verbruik weerspieël.

2. Afsonderlike Fakturering vir Waterverbruik en Basiese Heffings:

•    Onder Promun is die heffing  vir verbruik en basiese dienste  gekombineer  as een bedrag en word so aangedui op die staat.
•    Met Sage word die basiese heffings  vir verbruik nou afsonderlik  gehef en so aangedui op die staat.

3. Saldo Oorgedra:

•    Die saldo wat op jou rekening oorgedra word, is nie 'n agterstallige bedrag nie, maar weerspieël die gedeelde heffings vir verbruik gedurende Junie en Julie maande.  (Junie se ou tarief en Julie se nuwe tariewe)

4. Eiendomsbelasting:

•  Alle residensiële eiendomsbelasting is oorgeskakel na ‘n  maandelikse heffing  soos geadverteer. Eiendomsbelasting sal nou elke maand gehef word, met die korting wat afsonderlik getoon word. Byvoorbeeld, "Ontoelaatbaar" verwys na die eerste R15,000, en "Vermindering" verwys na R65,000, wat die randwaardes vir die korting toon.
